Young Americans Christian School was founded in 1988 by several families who desired a quality Christian education for their children. The school originally began with twenty-four preschool students who met at a local rented church facility. The following year there was overwhelming interest and support for the addition of a kindergarten class, and the first kindergarten class was formed. With continued interest and support from parents and the community, additional grade levels were added. The school became a member of the Association of Christian Schools International in 1991.

In 1998 the school, along with Old Salem Christian Church, partnered together to build a new facility that provided church facilities for Old Salem Christian Church and school facilities for grades K-3 through 9th grade for Young Americans Christian School. Though the school and church were and continue to be independent of each other, both entities utilized the facility. The school soon outgrew the facility, and by God’s blessing the school received a donation and purchased nineteen acres to build a larger facility.

In 2001 the school, along with Old Salem Christian Church, again built a new facility that includes an educational building, a separate gymnasium, and athletic fields. In June 2004 the school recieved full accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and by the Georgia Private School Accreditation Council(GAPSAC). In April 2006 the school recieved full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Due to continued growth, the school completed a building expansion program in 2006 adding additional classrooms and a new library. The facility currently accommodates grades K5 through 12th grade. Through God's blessing, the school has grown from twenty-four students to nearly five hundred and fifty students. Young Americans Christian School still remains a non-denominational, non-profit, independent Christian school.
